Sisters Honey, Crystal, Katherine and Ursa with their mom Kali in 2001. The sisters are from our first Chinook litter. The second photo is of the four girls at their 13 year' old birthday celebration.
Intervale Katherine through the years:
Puppy Kat at 6 weeks, adult Kat at 6 years, and senior citizen Kat at 13 years.
We lost our Intervale Katherine in December 2013. Kat was 15. Chinook puppies Jazzy and Fenway adored Kat. They respected her as the lead dog and loved to grovel for her! (see photo). Kat loved the lavish attentions of the pups too. She played with them and taught the pups many things. She was a big help in raising our 2013 litter and they kept her young at heart. Kat had very little gray and at 65 lbs, she was a big tawny red Chinook girl. Kat was an avid White MT hiker with many 4000 footers under her collar and she ran lead on the Intervale one dog to six dog sled team. She was a fine example of a Chinook athlete who could and did do it all. Kat is much loved and much missed by her family and friends.

Our Chinooks are our constant companions - creative and comical, easy keepers, and easy to love. Chinook Dogs are canine family companions who like to keep busy: Chinook activities include sledding, trialing in obedience, rally, agility, herding, lure coursing, barn hunt, showing in the conformation ring, biking, swimming, and hiking out on desolate mountain trails.
A Chinook's favorite pastime? Cuddling on the couch with their family!
